Peonies |
 |
Coneflowers |
These are out of sequence in that I painted them earlier in the summer. The peonies in the Arboretum is one of my very first plein air paintings. I remember how I had no idea of how to begin. I was so fearful of putting color to paper. The coneflowers followed. Hopefully, one can see progress in my more recent paintings that were posted earlier. I still feel that anxiety, but I am always reminded that it is just a sheet of paper and sooooo much easier than doing calligraphy. With calligraphy, one misspelled word (often at end of hours of painstaking work) and the entire page is scrapped. Ahhhhhhh.....Pastels.
